It was 2012.
We had just moved from our small house with the wrap around porch into a big yellow warehouse, which we promptly painted white. We built a little shop with a Barber chair in the back and the rest for the space was for art making and exhibition-ing.
I worked in the supermarket a few shifts a week. The rest of the time, I was painting.
Our new neighbours had just moved in when I had my first exhibition in Byron. It was a wonderful night, a few pieces of work sold on the night and all the hummus was eaten.
I remember how good it felt to take off my shoes after all the guests left.
